Squats aka Sitting and Standing

In the gym its called a squat. It is also known as a sit-to-stand which is also its function.
The movement, is a basic functional movement used in everyday life. It involves bending at the hips and knees to lower the body and then using the legs and hips to return to a standing position. Squatting helps develop strength, balance, coordination, and mobility needed for activities such as sitting down, standing up from a chair, lifting objects, and moving safely throughout the day. Squatting below parallel is also generally safe for healthy knees when performed with proper technique and an appropriate load. Training through a deeper range of motion can strengthen the muscles and tissues around the knee and may improve knee function and mobility over time. The idea that squatting below parallel is automatically harmful to the knees is not supported by current evidence.
